I have finally decided to quit smoking. I am a 38 year old male and I have been in the cigarette smoking business for half of my life now. I have been thinking about doing this for a long time but I have kept pushing the date out. You probably know the routine if you have ever smoked. "I'll quit after my birthday, after that party next month, after that...other thing." So like a zillion other people, I decided to pick New Year's Day as my time to stop. Well, I haven't exactly stopped just yet but I did start taking Chantix. I have tried the patch, the gum and even cold turkey but nothing has really worked for me, so I thought this drug was worth a try.
It's a 12 week program, so each day I will post my current status in my battle against the powerful forces of nicotine. I'll also list any of my observations of the drugs effects. My goal is to quit smoking once and for all.
